One of my favs.Even though the artist singing the song "Destiny" is not an original member of the Zero 7, I think its great that they added her to their selections. I really like this group/artist.
Maybe it will take a few more listens. Someone said this album was even better than the later gorgeous 'When It Falls' CD - it's not. It's ok, but for me it just doesn't hit the spot.
At full blast it really is a sacred sound that could easily and immediately humble the best of gospel singers. the list goes on as the CD is great from beginning to end; uplifting, relaxing, and classic.
One of electronica's greatest moments yet. Sounds like that cafe table hosting a warm mocha under a white contemplative december sky.
After listening to this cd for close to a decade I have to ask, does anyone else feel like the whole album builds up to one point. Other tracks are great as well, Polaris, This World, etc.
When It Falls is another good album from this group, and I would definitely recommend it over the Garden. Likufanele sounds like angelic voices rejoicing over the smoothest beat I could ever possibly imagine.
A modern day hallelujah as it were, perhaps the best we can do.
'Simple Things' is simply amazing. Only then will you realize that the band needs to return to it's roots.and you can join me in encouraging them to do so. Buy it NOW. I am submitting this review in celebration of Zero 7's release of thier fourth cd titled 'Yeah Ghost'.which is a GREAT record. However, if you are new to Zero 7.buy 'Simple Things'.and upon your admission that your life has changed for the better.purchase 'When It Falls', and then 'The Garden'.
few recognize the name of this musical collective and so in keeping with its underground appeal, please take your own life when the last track has ended. good sounds emanate from this compact disc when placed into a stereo system. these sounds operate at optimum level when played during late night hours, lazy summer afternoons or at your own funeral.
